Jesus Is Just

The Lord Jesus: The Just Judge

The Lord Jesus embodies perfect justice, a quality that defines His divine nature. In the Scriptures, Jesus is described as the one who judges with righteousness and fairness, without partiality or bias. His judgments are always true, reflecting the heart of God, who sees all things clearly and discerns the motives of every heart. Jesus' justice is not like human justice, which can be flawed and influenced by external factors. Instead, His judgments are based on absolute truth and His infinite wisdom, ensuring that no sin goes unnoticed, and no act of righteousness is overlooked. He is the just judge who will one day bring every deed into judgment, whether hidden or known, holding every person accountable according to His perfect standards.

In His earthly ministry, Jesus demonstrated this just nature through His actions and teachings. He rebuked hypocrisy, called out injustice, and showed compassion to those who were oppressed. Jesus never hesitated to confront the religious leaders of His time, exposing their self-righteousness and misuse of authority. He defended the marginalized, healed the sick, and uplifted those whom society had cast aside. His sense of justice was not limited to punishing wrong but extended to restoring what was broken and giving hope to the downtrodden. In every way, Jesus upheld God’s standards of justice while showing mercy, perfectly balancing these two attributes that are often difficult for humans to reconcile.

Jesus is also described as the "Bright Morning Star," a title that reflects His divine glory and His role as the light in a dark world. In Revelation 22:16, Jesus declares, "I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the bright Morning Star." This title signifies His brilliance, purity, and the hope He brings as the dawning of a new day. Just as the morning star appears in the sky just before the dawn, Jesus’ presence brings the promise of new beginnings, a fresh start, and the ultimate victory of light over darkness. He guides His followers through the darkness of life’s trials, illuminating the path with His truth and offering the hope of eternal life.

The imagery of Jesus as the bright Morning Star also emphasizes His role as the fulfillment of God's promises. Throughout the Old Testament, prophecies pointed to a coming Messiah who would bring salvation and restoration to God’s people. Jesus fulfills these prophecies, shining as the light that overcomes the darkness of sin and death. As the Morning Star, He signals the end of the night and the beginning of a new era in God’s redemptive plan. His resurrection from the dead was the ultimate declaration of His power over sin and death, providing hope for all who believe in Him.

In the end, the justice of the Lord Jesus and His identity as the Bright Morning Star give believers a firm foundation for their faith. His justice assures us that wrongs will be righted and that God's righteousness will prevail. His light guides us, offering hope in our darkest moments and pointing us toward the eternal glory that awaits. As we look to Jesus, we are reminded that He is both the righteous judge and the beacon of hope, calling us to live in the light of His truth and to trust in His just and loving nature.Top of FormBottom of Form
