Mountain tops and low valleys.

Life is filled with mountain tops and low valleys—moments of triumph and moments of struggle. When we stand on the mountain, the air feels clearer, our hearts feel lighter, and we can see farther than before. These seasons remind us of God’s abundant blessings and the beauty of walking closely with Him. They are gifts, not because of our strength, but because He lifts us up and shows us glimpses of His glory. The mountaintop is a place of praise, joy, and renewed vision.

Yet valleys inevitably come, too. These are the places where shadows fall, where burdens feel heavy, and where we sometimes struggle to understand the path beneath our feet. But even in the valleys, God is present. He does not leave us when the road gets narrow or when our hearts grow weary. Instead, He walks beside us more closely than we often realize. The valley becomes a place where He teaches us to trust, to lean on Him, and to know Him in deeper ways than we ever could on the mountaintop.

Through both heights and depths, the Lord remains constant. His character never shifts with our emotions, our circumstances, or our fears. He is the same in joy as in sorrow, the same in plenty as in want. His love is not dependent on how strong we feel or how well life is going. God’s faithfulness is anchored in His unchanging nature, and therefore we can rest in Him no matter where we find ourselves.

When life brings confusion, uncertainty, or “congestion” that clutters our hearts and minds, the Lord does not step away. He meets us right in the middle of our struggles. He gently clears the path, strengthens our spirits, and gives us peace that the world cannot offer. Even when we cannot see the way forward, He sees clearly, and He guides us with perfect wisdom. His faithfulness shines brightest when our understanding is clouded.

So whether we stand rejoicing on the high places or walk slowly through the low valleys, we can declare with confidence that the Lord is faithful. He is the God who never abandons His people, who holds us steady, and who leads us with love. Life will always rise and fall, but He remains steadfast—our constant rock, our Shepherd, and our refuge. In every season, He is worthy of our trust, our praise, and our gratitude.
